Helemano Elementary (Principal Ernest Muh) - The school year is off to a great start. Currently, we have 630 students enrolled. I anticipate the enrollment to increase with the completion of twenty new homes at Helemano Military Reservation. I continue to ask for your patience with the morning and afternoon traffic. I know that we can provide the best educational experience for your child as we continue to work together.
Iliahi Elementary (Principal Garett Yukumoto) - We are excited for the opening of the 2013-2014 school year and seeing your child learn and grow. Our meet and greet as well as our Kindergarten orientation was a huge success. We encourage all of you to get involved with Iliahi Pride at the "Home of the Mighty Dragons." Together we can make a difference.
Solomon Elementary (Principal Sally Omalza) - Solomon Elementary School started off the year with a "full house" of 1077 students! Our Kindergarten Parent Orientation supported 273 new students by welcoming new families to our Solomon community. Open House for grades 1-5, on Friday, August 9 from 5-6:30 pm, was a success with our cafeteria over flowing with families! Thank you all...students, families, teachers and staff!! Welcome to a new and exciting school year everyone!!
Wheeler Middle School (Principal Brenda Vierra-Chun) - On Friday, August 02, 2013 Wheeler Middle held a meet and greet. There were many positive comments by students, faculty, and parents. There seemed to be a constant flow of parents and students coming throughout the school day - 650 schedules (out of 770) were picked up that day! I know as students and parents had a chance to meet and talk to their teachers, it helped to ease some of their "middle school" anxieties.
Hale Kula Elementary (Principal Jan Iwase) - We have a major construction project on our campus, but the entire school community has been flexible and understanding! So far, we've had many parents on campus for New Student/Parent Orientation, Meet-and-Greet, and Kindergarten Orientation. We look forward to "Working, learning, and succeeding together!"
Wheeler Elementary School (Principal Troy Tamura) - We are off to a great start with 635 students in Kindergarten - Fifth Grade. On August 1, 2013 we had our meet and greet which was a great success. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 we are having our Open house from 5:00 - 6:00 for all grades. We are looking forward to living our brand, "One Team, One Mission" with our school community.
Kaala Elementary School (Principal Bob Davis) - Ka'ala Elementary School is off to a wonderful start of the 2013/14 school year. Our student population is approximately 50 students above projection putting our Preschool-5th grade student population at 511 students. Our students and staff enjoyed our Welcome Back Assembly on August 15 where we met the new staff members and reviewed our character education programming through entertaining skits. It was a fantastic start to an exciting new school year.
Wahiawa Elementary School (Principal Jamie Oshiro) -
Leilehua High School (Principal Aloha Coleman) - 1,803 students! We're having a great time this school year welcoming our new and returning students. Our Welcome Assembly on August 9, 2013 was filled with school pride. Go Mules!
Wahiawa Middle School (Principal Gayle Yamaguchi) - Wahiawa Middle School welcomed our new and returning students with a week filled with activities. Informational assemblies, a fun filled welcome assembly and tours for 6th graders helped our students adjust to the new school year. Our student leaders planned activities on Friday to allow grade levels to show their school spirit. Team building activities were held during lunch recess and grade levels received points for wearing our Anti-Bullying colors. We were happy to welcome parents to our AVID Night and our annual Open House. The Jazz Band performed at the Pineapple Festival while our robotics team competed at McKinley Vexhibition on August 17. We are off to a great start.
